So I learned how to play his song and my guitar was sitting around in that tuning, and a couple days later I just picked it up and started playing “Let The Records Play,” and I was like, “Jeff, I stole your tuning!” So it ended up working out. At first he said, “Oh, it’s just a drop-D tuning,” so I went home and tried playing it for ages and was like, “How does he play it? I don’t understand.” And then two days later, he’s like, “It’s this tuning” and he showed me, and all the strings were totally different than I had originally thought. That song’s funny, because the backstory is that Jeff Ament wrote another song for the record-Jeff wrote a lot on this record-but he wrote this song and had this tuning. It serves a good purpose on the record, and it’s refreshing a little bit. It’s not my favorite song on the record I like it a lot and I’m glad it’s on there.
